Description:
Expression of Interest are invited for Development of a Fishing Fleet of Deep-Sea Shrimp (Plesionika Edwardsii) in Cape Verde The World Bank Group now invites eligible firms to indicate their interest in providing the services. Interested firms must provide information indicating that they are qualified to perform the services (brochures, description of similar assignments, experience in similar conditions, availability of appropriate skills among staff, etc. for firms; CV and cover letter for individuals). Please note that the total size of all attachments should be less than 5MB. Consultants may associate to enhance their qualifications. The projects objective is to contribute to the regular, permanent, and sustainable mobilization of a semi-industrial fishing fleet to exploit the annual potential of 200 tons, with an estimated annual value between 6 to 8 million euros. The project will provide an opportunity for operators (shipowners, fishermen, saleswomen and fish sellers, HORECA operators) to leverage a new business, increase their income and bring greater sustainability to the sector. Specifics project objectives include: a)Elaboration and implementation of a practical training plan, on land and on board, aimed at fishing owners, including semi-industrial fishing vessels captains and fishermen. b)Selection and adaptation of three semi-industrial fishing vessels for the São Vicente soldier shrimp fishery. c)Updating potentials in terms of biological yield per pot and regulatory and fishing measures for the resource. d)Preparation of a business plan including the study of the economic and social feasibility.
